Catalina Island
is only 22 miles off the coast of Los Angeles but it feels like a world
away. Unfortunately, we only had one day and two nights to spend exploring but
we still managed to see and do quite a few things. In the morning,
we took the Skyline
Drive Tour into Catalina's protected wilderness. After
lunch, we visited the sea lions on the Seal
Rock Cruise. Later, we walked to the Wrigley Memorial &
Botanical Garden where we saw lots and lots of cacti. We finished
off the eventful day with the Flying
Fish Boat Trip that evening. Somehow we also managed to find
some time to wander through the
streets of Avalon
as well.
Next time we plan to stay longer and do some hiking in the interior and
diving in the crystal clear water.
